What are the other activities of socentstructures.org.uk?

Currently mainly organising and delivering training seminars on social enterprise organisational structure issues with partner organisations.

In due course, however, we hope to develop partnership bids and other opportunities for development work around organisational structures that will lead to paid work and professional development opportunities for the community of developers.  Our vision is that they will become a recognised network delivering excellent front-line advice and assistance anywhere in the UK to social entrepreneurs and organisations wanting to restructure around social enterprise, and also advice to national sector and government bodies, both in the UK and other countries, on organisational structure issues.

Cost

Becoming a member involves buying a £1 share for company membership, but is otherwise free to UK not-for-profit organisations that are formally asset-locked bodies (Charities, Community Interest Companies and some Community Benefit Societies).

For other individuals and organisations, whose use of the site is likely to contribute to their private income, there is a small annual membership charge, currently £10 per fee-earner - so for example a freelance social enterprise advisor will only pay £1 for a share on joining, and £10 per year for membership thereafter; a law firm with 10 lawyers will pay £1 for the share plus £100 per year, and so on.

Remember members also get to vote on key decisions!  - so if you don't like the fee structure, join and get it changed (if you can persuade others of your views).
